Orientation Info For All Grades

10th - 12th Grade Orientation on July 31st, 2024

Oceana will have an orientation day for 10th - 12th graders on July 31st. 

Students will take their school pictures and check their registration. If registration is complete, students can pick up their school schedules. 

Please help the process by completing registration on StudentVUE before July 31st. Families should click on "Student Registration 2024-2025 is Currently Open: Check Registration 2024-2025 Status" to start the registration process. If you have any questions, contact our registrar, Criss Galea at

12th Graders
8:30 am: Last Name A - C
8:45 am: Last Name D - H
9:00 am: Last Name I - M
9:15 am: Last Name N - S
9:30 am: Last Name T - Z

11th Graders:
9:45 am: Last Name A - C
10:00 am: Last Name D - I
10:15 am: Last Name J - M
10:30 am: Last Name N - S
10:45 am: Last Name T - Z

10th Graders:
11:00 am: Last Name A - C
11:30 am: Last Name D - H
11:45 am: Last Name I - M
12:00 pm: Last Name N - S
12:15 pm: Last Name T - W

Students - don't forget to complete your summer readings!


9th Grade Orientation on July 30th, 2024

9th Grade Orientation will be July 30th, 2024 starting at 9:00 am. Students will be able to check their registration, pick up their schedules and locker information, learn about flex time, buy PE clothes and take their school pictures. 

We will ask students to line up for their school pictures in the cafeteria according to their last name. 

A - C: 9:00 AM
D - K: 9:15 AM
L - N: 9:30 AM;
O - R: 9:45 AM
S - Z: 10:00 AM 

At 10:30 am, we will have a formal presentation followed by a Q&A. We then end with a BBQ in the courtyard. A full agenda will be sent out in July. 

9th Grade Supplies List for 2024-25

Materials for courses are never necessary to purchase as teachers and counselors can provide all necessary school materials, however, if you would like to purchase your own supplies, here is a recommended list for each course:

9th graders typically include all of these courses: 

Humanities 9:

  • Binder with pockets (or sturdy folder if student insists on a folder) -- 1 dedicated to Humanities
  • Pencils
  • Pens (if using pen)
  • 3-5 highlighters
  • 1-3 stacks of Post-Its

Physics in the Universe:

  • 100 page college ruled composition notebook
  • scientific calculator
  • pen/pencils
  • glue stick
  • small scissors 
  • small set of markers or colored pencils

Math Course 1:

  • 2-3 inch binder
  • spiral notebook


  • Oceana PE shirt & sweats 

9th graders typically take one of the following courses: 

Spanish 1:

  • 3-ring binder (can share with another class with a divider)


  • Notebook dedicated to health
