COVID-19 Update from Superintendent Deloria
Dear JUHSD students and families,
As we plan for the “return to school,” the health and safety of all students and staff will continue to be my top priority. These have been challenging days caring for children and family members full time while maintaining full time jobs, or keeping up with the demands of your high school education. You have each shown how extraordinary you are, and I continue to be inspired.
As you know from my previous email, I will provide you a COVID-19 Update via a Zoom webinar tonight, Tuesday, May 12 at 6:00 p.m followed by a webcast in Spanish at the same link. I will be talking about three specifics topics:
- The COVID-19 Dashboard for San Mateo County
- JUHSD Planning for the Return to School in 20-21
- State and District Budget Update
You will be able to post questions related to these three topics in the chat, and I will do my best to answer many of them. Please use the link below to participate in this important webinar:

With gratitude,

Family and Student Webinar
Return to School Committee Although we do not have the “right” county order from Dr. Morrow to begin this work, I have convened a diverse committee of parents, students and staff to research and develop a “return to school” plan for the 20-21 school year. I will talk about this in our Family and Student COVID-19 Update Webinar, mentioned previously.
The Coming Storm: Big Budgets Cuts, Rising Costs for CA Schools While we have no plans for lay-offs planned for the 20-21 school year related to this budget crisis, we will be affected by the loss of revenue.
