Dear JUHSD students and families,
We are coming to the end of the school year! I am impressed with how you responded to this crisis and adapted to our At Home Learning. Please continue to practice self-care as the semester winds down—your health matters.
This COVID-19 pandemic evolved and escalated quickly. All of us has have had to figure out how to work and/or learn during these unsettling times, often with additional challenges at home. Likewise, I have had to rethink many of our traditional policies and practices—I often ask myself “How do we hold our students harmless?” Thank you for supporting our staff and me during these very challenging times.
With respect and gratitude,
BP 6146.1 High School Graduation Requirements The Board has approved an emergency policy for high school graduation requirements that applies to this year’s seniors only. Through various Assembly Bills (1607, 1806, 2306, and 2121), several student subgroups had been exempted from the JUHSD Graduation Requirements and graduated under California’s Minimum State Requirement. During states of emergency like this pandemic, our seniors would qualify for this exemption as well. Counselors and administrators have been working on identifying which students would qualify for the minimum state requirement. This requirement would also apply for seniors in the summer school program.
