About Us

      The United Nations Children's Fund – UNICEF – is the driving force that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realized. We believe that nurturing and caring for children are the cornerstones of human progress. UNICEF was created with this purpose in mind -- to work with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease, and discrimination place in a child's path.

      Putting #ChildrenFirst in more than 190 countries and territories around the world, UNICEF has helped save more children’s lives than any other humanitarian organization by providing health care, clean water, nutrition, education, emergency relief and more. Together we are working toward the day when no children die from preventable causes and every child has a safe and healthy childhood. Through this, we believe that we can expand future generations’ opportunities and allow them to reach their full potential.

Activities

      Westmoor High School UNICEF Club has been aiding children in need since its founding in 2014. The biggest projects that our club actively participates in are the annual Trick or Treat for UNICEF fund-raiser that takes place in October and the UNICEF Tap Water Project that takes place in March, both of which are nationwide campaigns seeking to support the world’s children. In the 2016 - 2017 school year alone, our club was able to rally together and raise over $1,000! Aside from this, our club also provides service during local community events that range in nature from charity races to beach clean-ups to digital campaigns.
