RE: Physical Requirements for Athletics for 2020-2021 School Year
Jefferson Union High School District is working with California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) to determine whether sports will take place this year. In the meantime, it is best to be prepared with the documentation that student athletes will need in order to participate.
- An in-person physical is not required to allow students to participate in school athletics. JUHSD will accept a healthcare provider’s certification that a student is cleared to participate in school athletics even if the appointment was conducted through tele-medicine.
- CIF still requires an annual physical. This can be done in person or through tele-medecine.
Students/parents can upload their sports physical clearance from their physician on SportsNet after June 30th.
Students or parents with questions can contact their school’s athletic director.

Westmoor: Mary Ann Paul, MPaul@juhsd.net
All students who wish to try-out or participate in sports at Westmoor must first be cleared by a doctor through a sports physical and go through the online athlete registration process. Evidence of the completed physical must be uploaded. Sports physicals are valid for one year after completion. Students must also maintain at least a 2.0 gpa to compete.
