Employee Recognition

Celebrating Our JUHSD Teammates

The Jefferson Union High School District is deeply appreciative of the incredible contributions of our JUHSD Teammates. Employees are annually recognized at the Welcome Back Event as well as at the End of the Year Celebration.

Welcome Back Event: Employees are annually recognized at our Welcome Back Event with our Years of Service Recognition. More information about the Years of Service Recognition is included at the bottom of the page. For those who think their years of service may have been calculated incorrectly, please complete the InformedK12 Form here.

End of the Year Celebration: At the end of the End of the Year Celebration, all retirees are honored for their contributions. In addition, one administrator is recognized as the Michael Crilly Administrator of the Year, one teacher from each site is recognized as the Martha Meade Certificated Employee of the Year and one certificated staff member from each site is recognized as the Sue Cook Classified Employee of the Year. The Employees of the Year are nominated by colleagues from throughout the district through a nomination form that is distributed annually in the Spring. A video of the 2022-2023 End of the Year Celebration is available to the right.

Years of Service Recognition

JUHSD values its employees and the incredible contributions teammates make for the benefit of students. The Years of Service Pins awarded to employees at the Welcome Back Event is an opportunity to celebrate employees. This recognition is not related to the seniority lists, retirement calculations nor compensation.

How are Years of Service Calculated?

The number of consecutive years an employee has served JUHSD is calculated by determining the school year an employee started in a permanent position. For the purposes of calculating years of service, an employee hired anytime between July 1 through June 30 is credited with that school year being their first year of employment. Gaps in service and time working as a coach or substitute do not count toward years of service.

When are Years of Service Pins Awarded?

Pins are awarded at the Welcome Back event at the start of the school year. Employees who have completed 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 or more years of service are recognized with a pin and a certificate.
