Mr. Mark Beshirs

Mr. Beshirs returned to Jefferson High School in 2016. Prior to becoming Principal, he has served as VP of Administration at Terra Nova High School within the Jefferson Union High School District.  Prior to working at Terra Nova High School he was on staff at Jefferson High School as Dean of Students and as an English Teacher.

Ms. Kesha Emmendorfer

 

Ms. Emmendorfer comes to the district with 11 years in education, the last five in school administration having previously served in Michigan public schools and most recently at City Arts and Tech High School in San Francisco. She received her undergraduate degree with a major in Secondary Education and her graduate degree majoring in Educational Leadership from Wayne State University in Detroit; she has also earned a Specialist in Educational Leadership from the University of Michigan-Flint. As the VPA, Ms. Emmendorfer will support staff and students to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

Ms. Leticia Gonzalez

Ms. Gonzalez has previously taught in Los Angeles, Oakland, and San Jose.  She received a Master of Arts in International and Comparative Studies from Columbia University, Teachers College and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from San Francisco State University.  This is Ms. Gonzalez’s 2nd year as an administrator with Jefferson Union High School District, but has a combined 4 years of Administration experience on top on the 10 years previous working as a middle school teacher and instructional coach.  As the Vice Principal of Guidance, Ms. Gonzalez works closely with the counseling team to ensure that all students are meeting their goals and are on track to college and career readiness.

Ms. Amy Thwaite

Ms. Thwaite has been part of our Science Department teaching Chemistry and Physical Science since 2008 before becoming Dean.  Ms. Thwaite was the mentor of the Environmental Club and the Advisor for the Class of 2017.
