In this class for adults who are just starting with computers, we'll cover the basics. You'll learn about the parts of a computer and how they work together. We'll also teach you how to use programs like Microsoft Word and Google Docs. By the end, you'll feel comfortable using a computer, making documents, sending emails, and searching the internet. It's a great way to get started with technology!

Intermediate Computing I
This course is for learners who have either taken Computer Basics or know how to use a computer.
This course is designed for adults who have a solid grasp of computer fundamentals and are ready to further enhance their skills with a focus on IT support principles. In our Intermediate Computing with Cybersecurity class, we will delve deeper into how computer components function and interact, while also integrating key cybersecurity concepts to ensure safe and secure computing. You will advance your proficiency in essential software applications like Microsoft Word and Google Docs, and learn to manage more complex document tasks with an emphasis on data protection and privacy. Additionally, we will explore more sophisticated email management techniques, including security best practices to defend against phishing and other threats. We will also enhance your internet research skills, teaching you to identify secure and reliable sources and protect yourself online. By the end of this course, you will not only feel more confident in your IT support capabilities but will also be equipped to help users apply cybersecurity concepts to their everyday life . This course is an excellent next step for those looking to build on their basic technology skills and gain a foundational understanding of cybersecurity.

This class will be an entry level course that could span CompTIA and ISC2 Security certifications. It is a one-year course: September 2024-May 2025.

Throughout this course, we'll cover five crucial domains of cybersecurity. Let's break them down:

- Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR): You'll learn how organizations prepare for and respond to events that disrupt normal operations. We'll explore strategies to ensure continuous operation and rapid recovery in the event of a disaster.
