Flu Vaccine Information
With seasonal flu season coming soon, it is important that all San Mateo County residents know how to prevent the spread of influenza (or flu). School-age children often transmit influenza to each other as they play and study together, and they also pass the flu on to adults and siblings in school and at home.

New 2011 Pertussis Immunization Requirements (for Whooping Cough)
For the 2011–12 school year students will need proof of a Tdap shot before starting school.
Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) Tdap safely protects against 3 dangerous diseases: tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough (also called pertussis). Whooping cough has been increasing in the U.S. It continues to be widespread in California.
